We first met in the summer of 2000 in Zurich. I was there for a business/private trip. I stayed with my friend Daniela, and together with Michael, the 4 of us went out for a day. First to the street parade in Zurich. Then we went to a very peaceful and beautiful lake (what a contrast!). We had a nice dinner, followed by ice-cream, and you know what? A fabulous boat ride on the lake and there was even fireworks when we were in the middle of the lake!!!! 
After that, I went back to Rotterdam (of course, where else can I go?) and we kept in contact by email. Through emails, we got to know each other more, and I find him a very nice, friendly person with a warm heart (well my first impression of him was he is relatively "cool" when I met him in Zurich, he didn't talk much). Then we met up again at the ISM (exhibition) in Cologne in January, 2001. 
In March, he visited me in Holland on his way to Iceland. I tried hard to show him how nice Holland is, but instead all I could show was wind and rain in Rotterdam!
In May, he came over for a long weekend. This time we had much better luck, as we amazingly had sunshine for all the days!! So, he managed to survived my driving, while I managed to show him, at last, some beautiful places in Holland.
Now in July, it will be my turn to visit Zurich, and his turn to be my personal tourguide!! |
